Ideal for piping, PVDF is also used in the manufacture of pads and protective coverings. This material is used in vat manufacturing for chemical products as well as for liquid coverings used in construction. It is also used as a biotechnological membrane. It is known for its excellent thermal and electrical insulating properties. Furthermore, because of its extreme tension resistance, its transparency and firmness it make a perfect thread for fishing lines and nets.

PVDF is an extremely resistant thermoplastic to temperature variations, ultraviolet rays and the most corrosive chemical agents. It is a ferroelectric polymer with pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties so it can be used as a component in probes and battery manufacturing. Totally waterproof, it has a greater resistance than nylon and a weak degree of refraction making it almost invisible.

Teflons can be chemically treated to allow etching or they can be composed of several additives such as glass, glass fiber (fiberglass), graphite, bronze and many others. The available teflon grade are PTFE, FEP, MFA, PFA, PVDF, ETFE, ECTFE, PCTFE and PVF. Please, note that for PVDF, "tube" and "roll" formats must be specially ordered.

Teflon® is sold in standard and customized dimensions. The heat deflecting available on PTFE has different ratio such as 4: 1 and 2: 1 while the FEP ratio is 1.6: 1 and 1.3: 1
