Fluorofab® belts : Joins, Alignments and Guiding
As often as possible, GBI belts should be ordered with heat sealed joins which provide as much resistance as the belt material (joins can be sewn for additional strenght).
Alligator Type Join: This mechanical join consists of metallic interlaced hooks through which a pin is introduced to complete the joint. This mechanism allows the belt to be reached without having to disassemble the machine.
Fabric Pin Join: This flexible sealing joint, similar to the alligator type joint, does not need metallic hooks. The jagged (indented) ends are made with the same material as the belt and a pin, made of a special fabric, reinforces the joint. Supplied with a PTFE pin, this type of belt is used in ovens and microwave equipment.
Join Protection: Heat sealed fabric flaps are also used to cover alligator type joins, so that the interlaced metal hooks do not come into contact with conveyed products on the machine straps.
Guiding System Incorporated into the Belt: GBI belt can be supplied with guiding pins (or clamps) on one or both belt edges. These guiding pins are made to guide and carry belts through engraved pulley grooves to keep the belt aligned. The edge reinforcement is standard everywhere pins or ties are adjusted and fixed at 1/2 inch lengths from the belt edge with spacing of 1 1/2 inches center-to-center. Pins attached to both edges are recommended for belts having a width of more than 12 inches.
