UHMW are slippery materials which resist abrasion and compression. Few products can adhere to them and their thermal expansion is superior to other thermoplastics. Relatively malleable, they are excellent electric insulators and they can be welded by a thermoplastic welding process. Models are available in colours and formats such as natural (white), antistatic, UV resistant autolubricating, recycled and high-temperature. In standard form, their heat resistance is 82 °C (180 °F).
UHMW Polysteel® is used for guides, chain channels, wear parts and other components within machinery to reduce abrasion and prolong equipment life. It is frequently used in the sawmills and the pulp & paper industry.
UHMW Polysteel® is a black and slippery material that is heavier than the other UHMW grades. In addition, it has metallic additives which set off metal detectors to reduce the risk of plastic contamination.
UHMW Polysteel® decreases the risk of paper pulp contamination.
UHMW Polysteel® is available in standard and customized dimensions.
