NYLON TYPE 6 - TYPE 6/6 and 6/12

Nylons are thermoplastic polyamides (PA). They are highly resistant to impact, chemicals and wear and provide good tensile strength.

APPLICATIONS

Nylon Type 6, Type 6/6 and 6/12 are suitable for gears, supports, mechanical parts, pulleys as well as food and bottling industries and printing equipment.

Nylon Type 6 and Type 6/6 are mainly used for food applications because, for the same price, nylons with additives provide better wear properties (MoS2 / Nyloil®).

FEATURES

  • Nylon Type 6 and Type 6/6 are very hard and low friction materials.
  • Nylons 6/12 offer better dimensional stability and impact resistance, and lower moisture absorption rate.
  • All types have good mechanical properties and compressive strength as well as wear resistance.
  • Type 6 and 6/12 are available in cast molded grade and Type 6/6 is molded by extrusion.
  • Unfilled nylon resin are off-white (cream) in colour and compliant with FDA standards.
