PTFE (Teflon®)

Fluoropolymers are made of fluorinated plastic material which is characterized by high resistance to chemicals as well as good thermal stability and low coefficient of friction.

APPLICATIONS

PTFE (polytetrafluorethylene) is used for bearings, electrical wire and cable insulation at high temperature, fittings and tank linings.

It is also used for electrical applications as well as in the food and medical industries.

FEATURES

  • Marketed under the trademark Teflon®
  • PTFE is a semi-translucent or white fluoropolymer, semi-crystalline, flexible, soft and easy to process.
  • Its properties remain over a great temperature range from -240° C to 260° C (-400° F to 500° F). Other features include good dielectric properties, chemical and UV resistance.
